Why is space dark even though there are so many stars? Let's find out! Space is incredibly vast, like an enormous empty room. Stars give out light, but this light has to travel a long, long way through space. Along the journey, the light spreads out and becomes weaker. Think of it like shouting in a huge, empty field. Your voice may not be heard at the other end because it spreads out too much. Also, some of this star light gets absorbed by dust and gas floating in space.
Visualize: Imagine a big, dark room. What happens if you place one small light bulb in one corner? Now picture how the light from that bulb spreads out.
