How does screen time affect a growing brain? — Part 2: How does screen time affect a growing brain? — Part 2: How It Works

Section 1 of 6

What Parts Work Together?

Have you ever thought about what happens in a child's brain when they spend time on screens? Let's explore the parts that work together to shape this experience. When you're on a device, your eyes see bright light and vibrant colors, capturing your attention. This signal travels to your brain, engaging areas responsible for decision-making and emotions. However, the brain also needs breaks to rest and process information. Without breaks, focusing becomes tough, and some important brain parts can't work well together. If screen time extends too long, the brain's ability to focus on other tasks might slow down.

🔧 Try This: Close your eyes for a minute and then open them quickly. Notice the rush of colors and details. Imagine if your eyes experienced this constantly with no rest. What do you notice?
