Section 1 of 6

What Limits Exist?

What are the boundaries the liver faces in its job? The liver is an amazing organ, like a busy factory inside your body. It has to filter out harmful substances, but just like a sieve can only catch so much sand, the liver has limits on how much it can process at a time. If it takes in too many harmful substances too quickly, the liver can get overwhelmed. Another limit is regeneration. The liver is unique in that it can repair itself more than other organs can. However, it can't completely regenerate if severely damaged. It's like a puzzle that can fix some missing pieces but not recreate the whole picture if too much is lost. These limits are important because they prevent the liver from doing its job if pushed too far. Environments with excessive toxins or sustained harm can exceed what the liver can handle, leading to serious health problems.
